What is JUVÉDERM™?

JUVÉDERM™ is an injectable gel of nonanimal-sourced hyaluronic acid (HA), which functions as a smooth, long-lasting dermal filler. Normally found in all living organisms, HA is used to correct facial lines and wrinkles. Because JUVÉDERM™ is the only dermal filler currently available with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid and a special HYLACROSS formulation process, it is a smooth gel that flows easily into the skin, creating natural, long-lasting results.

Similar to one of the body’s own natural substances, JUVÉDERM™ is a completely safe treatment. The hyaluronic acid in JUVÉDERM™ simply supplements the body’s age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump-up lips or to raise the skin and fill in wrinkles and folds.

How is JUVÉDERM™ different from other Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers?

Many other dermal fillers use a gel particle suspension formulation. These gel particles can sometimes be visibly seen. However JUVÉDERM™ is produced with the latest HYLACROSS technology, resulting in a gel with many more cross-links. The smooth consistency of the JUVÉDERM™ dermal filler produces natural, even filling effects. Since the body absorbs cross-linked hyaluronic acid more slowly, the results of JUVÉDERM™ last longer. Additionally, patient discomfort is also minimized at the injection site.

What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural complex sugar that retains water and is found in all living organisms. HA adds volume to the skin’s surface, restoring volume and correcting the appearance of facial folds and wrinkles. Because hyaluronic acid already appears in the body, the HA in JUVÉDERM™ is biocompatible.
